Borrowing her pseudonym from her late great grandmother who passed
away in 2006, Modesta has established herself as a member of the Aesop
Collective – a group of like-minded producers and promoters seeking to
promote electronic music in all its myriad forms throughout the City
of Brotherly Love – and Modesta’s approach is fittingly eclectic.
Taking cues from such labels as Cadenza, Perlon, Vakant and Kompakt,
as well as local stalwarts like FoundSound Recordings, she’s managed
to set herself apart with a heady sound that blends 80’s Latin house
with cutting edge techno and more experimental fare, all mixed with a
delicate touch.
